PRIVATE RESIDENCE, UPPER EAST SIDE
This Neo-Grec house was built in 1879 as one of four row houses. It is a New York City Landmark in the Upper East Side Historic District.
SCOPE OF WORK
Opus performed an on‐site assessment of the first and second floor plaster work and mural; to provide cost estimates on its current replacement and replication costs and the historical value of the installed plaster and mural.
FIRST FLOOR
The ground floor and parlor floor in the front of the house were combined to create a double height entry that was finished with elaborate plaster work at walls and ceilings of the entry and stair hall.
SECOND FLOOR
At the second floor in the front room, the ceiling was also finished in elaborate plaster work. Greek keys, floral crown molding, rosettes and octagons filled this truly remarkable ceiling.
