THE LOUVRE MUSEUM, PARIS
Opus’s hand sculpted clay replica of one of The Louvre Museum's column capitals. Original sculpture dates back to 1868 by French artist Edouard Balduus.
BEFORE
The original capitals are located in one of the halls of the Denon wing, dedicated to sculpture.
IN PROGRESS
To start Opus constructed an armature in order to create structure and stability for the sculpture, while still keeping it lightweight.
IN PROGRESS
Using non-drying clay, Opus began to build out the forms.

Completed clay sculpture of the capital, measuring 24” W x 24” L x 28” H.
