BRICK - THE MARK HOTEL, UPPER EAST SIDE
The Mark Hotel is one of New York City’s best five-star luxury hotels. It was originally constructed in 1927 in the Renaissance Revival style. Undergoing a building renovation, air conditioning units under each window were removed from the facade. Unfortunately, the new bricks installed in place of these units did not match in color to the existing. Opus’s role in the project included collaborating with the contractor, architect and Landmarks to lay out a step by step procedure in developing a solution.

“We, at Alexico Group, hired Opus to find a solution mismatching brick colors of the very high-end renovation project of ours, the Mark Hotel. It was pretty challenging work and Ms. Quartin and her team worked really hard on the top of a cherry picker's basket for long hours to achieve. Result and their craftsmanship were excellent. The outcome was complete satisfaction for us, our consultants and Landmark organization of New York City. Opus is highly recommended.”
