THE PHILIPPINE CONSULATE’S RESIDENCE, UPPER EAST SIDE
Constructed in 1918, this elegant Renaissance Revival style townhouse is a national and local heritage building. It was included in the Upper Eastside Historic District in 1981. For the beginning stage of the major multi-phase renovation, Opus created multiple mockups around the interior to identify major decorative elements. The salon being the finest room in the building is characterized by the blue hand-painted wallpaper murals, the highly ornamental plaster cornice and intricate woodwork door surrounds.
